Disassembly and Reassembly of Cone and Threaded Connections
- Before disconnecting, ensure all pressure is purged from system.
- Disconnect connection prior to reconnection ensure all sealing surfaces and threads forms are free from contamination and that thread forms are checked for any damage.
- Always make up as per manufacturers instruction.
- Do not allow any defects to go unreported.
- When checks have been completed simply reconnect as normal using same torque figure as initial make up.
- Note; On reconnection, the fitting should seal but if not break out, turn collar back slightly (1/8 – 1/4 turn) and torque up as per initial installation (you can add an extra 10% to the torque figure). If you are still finding leaks make up a new length of tube to suit.
